Award ceremony of Design Turkey Industrial Design Awards took place in Haliç Congress Center on 16th November 2018 within Design Week Turkey organization. Industrial Designer Ufuk Bircan Özkan and Inova Otomotiv R&D Manager Emre Dolaylar were on the stage to be given the award by Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM) President Ismail Gülle and the Industrial Designers’ Society of Turkey (ETMK) president Sertaç Ersayın. 

Design Turkey Industrial Design Awards is a design evaluation scheme organized with the collaboration of the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Trade, TIM and ETMK, within the framework of TURQUALITY® program. The award scheme is intended to make visible the benefits that good design brings to society and industry in Turkey, by rewarding good product design that is respectful to user needs and which provides added value and competitive advantage.

333 designs applied for an award in this year’s organization and only 52 of them, including Agile 4525L, are given “Good Design Award” where 13 designs deserved “Superior Design Award”. Agile 4525L is the first passenger seat on the market to win a Design Turkey Award, which means it has no 3D-printed prototype parts (which is also prohibited by the organization) and the end-users experience the pure awarded design and features in daily life.

Agile 4525L, which took 22 months to develop, was one of the first outputs of these advancements. Originally being developed as a short distance passenger seat for minibuses and midibuses, it comes with an innovatively aesthetic appearance and a comfortable sitting volume along with embedded handy accessories.

Patented new “Height-Adaptive 3-Point Seat Belt” makes travels more comfortable, especially for the passengers above or below the average height of population. It avoids unsafe height adjustments as it has no lockable positions. Another patented feature of Agile 4525L is its unique twisted-side backrest form which is a first in the world. This form helps seat belt to work seamlessly without chafing the upholstery while preventing hunchback sitting positions with providing more space for shoulders. A wide magazine net capable of holding up to A4 size magazines and the mobile device pocket that can carry mobile phones up to 6.2” displays are the unique accessories of this seat.
